Upstate Velo Club is looking for major sponsors for the team.

Imagine your company’s logo on cycling jerseys, banners and events
in every corner of northeast PA and beyond!

This regional cycling club focuses on the promotion of all types
of cycling, touring, road riding and racing, mountain biking, BMX,
triathlons and more. There are no age limits, as the club is inclusive
of all types of riders, not just elite road racers. The potential
membership in 2011 for Upstate Velo could be as many as 300
members. But the exposure for major sponsors is limitless.

Here’s why:

1. Club cyclists will be wearing the team’s jerseys—emblazoned
with the major sponsor’s logo on the front and back---on organized
training rides throughout our viewing area, logging thousands of
miles through towns many of us will never visit. But people will see
the cyclists with your unmistakable logo!

2. In addition to training rides, there are races throughout the
area that bring much attention to prominent teams such as Upstate
Velo.

3. There is an effort to attract and develop younger riders, as well
as female riders.

4. A great number of Upstate Velo riders participate in the Wilkes-
Barre Triathlon every year, wearing the team jersey.

5. Brand your company with positive, health conscious
images.

6. Cycling is a non-impact, healthy, life-long sport for all ages.
More awareness can be brought to the great rides throughout
our area and bring more people into the sport, creating a more
fit population.

7. Last year, for example, a cycling race held in downtown
Wilkes-Barre brought racers from all over the east coast as
well as hundreds of spectators, who brought business to area
restaurants and shops. The major sponsor was Blue Cross of
NEPA.

8. Upstate Velo has new officers this year and new vision for
cycling in the area. It’s the perfect chance for fresh, new
sponsorship.

The only downside?

The timing. The jerseys with the new sponsor’s name must be
ordered by mid-February, so a decision has to be made rather
quickly.

Major sponsorship for Upstate Velo is $5000 per year and a three
year commitment.
